I support common sense gun laws to allow reasonable and safe gun ownership, and I am committed to taking action that keeps our community safe from gun violence. In the first few months of my term, I held a gun violence prevention focus group, where I had the opportunity to hear directly from community members on their experiences with gun violence and legislative suggestions. I am the primary sponsor of legislation to require a 10-day waiting period when purchasing a firearm, and I am a cosponsor of numerous other bills to enact common sense gun safety measures to protect children and make our communities safer. Additionally, I strongly support measures for duty to notify of carry and concealed weapons to protect law enforcement.
