HEALTHCARE ACCESS
As a pediatric nurse and social worker in my professional life, I have a history of advocating for quality healthcare for all, especially mental healthcare. In my first term at the Statehouse, I have introduced numerous bills focusing on access to care, including legislation to establish an adverse childhood experiences study commission, to create a remote opioid pilot program, to increase awareness of Alzheimer's and dementia, to revise the law governing certified registered nurse anesthetists, and to reduce the cost of prescription medications. I will continue to advocate for mental health resources to address the ongoing and heightened mental health issue in our state. I support nurses and access to adequate resources for all healthcare workers, and introduced legislation this year to help provide a framework for violence prevention and workplace safety plans, training, and reporting standards in hospitals.
